As the chairman of our executive committee will be locking up a deal in Japan during the month of June, we will be unable to bid for any Head Acres development sites. All plans for our ‘Hill Flats’ and “Forest Meadows’ communities are hereby scuttled until further notice. However, we reserve the right to make attempts to erect our beautiful, 20,000 sq. ft homes (complete with unique ’round window’ above the polyphthalate door) at a later time. After all, we really dont need your permission anyway. Thats what lawyers are for. Cheerio.
hi jt-
i’m worried about your brains cooking. but not so worried that i won’t buy in. if this space could be located to the top or side, to catch a breeze thru the wind tower i am building, that would be great. i’d like to talk to you about the landscaping of this parcel - Goose Egg Hill. perhaps you could do it best, then i could have the tower trucked in and erected? thanks
I am looking forward to working with you on building and growing the Leander and Mary Gardens. Let’s lookinto the best kind of moss to create a bush-like creature as well as research ino what kind of flower can survive and grow best in the month of june. I need the gardens to have a fence so that it is part of the city but in some way a nice secluded secret place.
I will call around some local landscapers to see who has the heaviest back hoe.
“The chairman of our executive committee has emailed from Tokyo to indicate that we will be proceeding with developmental efforts. The Ropeworks building in New Bedford is selling out of artists live/work lofts, so we are looking to expand. This also sounds like an advertising oppportunity of the scale which best suits our company. Our marketing and design teams are putting their heads together, and a project management team has been appointed to get things off the neck. Anne and Adam will be in touch about location and schedule. The model will follow the idea behind our first project:
The Ropeworks is an artists’ community in a renovated textile mill. The condominium building features a sawtooth roof and exposed steel and brick. Large open spaces, with north facing skylights spanning entire length of every unit. Built to suit - from simple DIY to full build-out.
Building features include energy-efficient green construction, loading dock, shared gallery, parking, city park next-door, easy access to islands and beaches (?)
$150000 NEW lower prices - Great Live/Work Space For Artists, only 4 units left…

I am very excited about the development of this new space and look forward to seeing the results. Yet I cannot help worrying about the safety of everyone involved. I am afraid that this space is so small that it will pose an opportunity for those who wish us harm a chance to fly in under the radar of our government’s protection that we enjoy. But last night I was visited by the ghost of our former president Ronald Regan and instructed that there was a way to keep everyone safe. Therefore I am glad to announce that there is already paperwork in motion that will appoint a new position under the United States Department of Defense in conjunction with the development of the Strategic Defense Initiative that will do just that. The nicknamed “Head Wars” program will make sure that the development of the head will be able to continue without threat from outside influences. I know this is happy news for everyone and the residents of the head can sleep better knowing that they will have the protection that they may not know they want but are going to have anyways.

We of the Cody Anti-Walmart coaltion are dismayed at the recent news of the penned agreement between Head Acres and Kudesh Development, Inc. to build a Walmart facility. As such, the Coalition is requesting 1 plot of land directly adjacent to the development site which will be used to stage protests, picket-lines, sit-ins, stand-ups, singing of Kumbaya whilst holding hands and free love. The Cody Anti-Walmart Coalition respectfully requests under Section 16.4B of the JT Body Charter guaranteeing citizens “full right to protest terrorist corporations” that this plot of land be held in confidence and without written lease agreement until such time as the President and sole member of the Coalition returns from protesting draconian working conditions in China enabled by the evil that is Walmart. The Cody Anti-Walmart Coalition also respectfully requests that all involved partied ignore the fact that a Coalition by definition cannot be made of one person. I plan to protest Webster’s to have the meaning of the word changed just as soon as I receive my new 3D placards from Ebay. Plus my mom said she’d join.

It’s a very dirty, smelly job, but plans for my chicken farm and adjacent methane plant are well underway. I am preparing my large flock for their move to site #42 and constructing the pipe network for the methane distribution system that will be installed at site #45. Since I am the first landowner in my area, I plan on naming the adjacent road “Chicken Shit Alley”, as stated are my rights in my land contract. I feel this name is appropriate as it relates to what the future nearby lot owners have in store for them.
Eric,
Thank you for identifying an as yet unidentifiable threat. With fear and firepower we will be unstoppable except by the smallest pebble. And also.. you know I’m a sucker for fireworks.
Building 5 folks,
Check the recently added map for plots that are available and would suit your needs. I’ll be more than happy to help with the install, let’s find some time to meet.
Cody,
Would you consider lot 22 as being the site of your new anti-coporate corporate headquarters? You would be directly in the shadow of the scary-large-but-seductively-cheap-behemoth, although the saying goes, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. No molotov cocktails after 10pm, for the sake of the children please.

Things are happening so fast at Head Acres!
In addition to my already placed agreements, I urgently want to secure lot #2 and lot #17 as soon as possible, to prevent my campground from being overwhelemed by developement! Head Acres is going insane with such monstrosities as the W-Mrt and methane matters. Yikes!!! Considering my finances, I will have to just hope for “the best possible outcome” regarding my neighbors, lots # 1, 5 & 15.
In the meantime, please know that I have connections with “people who managed to get stories torn off of buildings in a nearby-major city,” because they encroached on nearby “light/air space.” I will be forwarding this website so the person can review the air spaces taken up by an unsaid major corporate box-store.

Chicken Farm and Methane Plant Update:
In order to completely fill my new lot at Head Acres, I have recently been collaborating with an Iowa Farmer in order to increase the size of my flock. Nancy Kunce, co-owner of Bluebird Farms, has just sent out a shipment of Iowa chickens, guaranteed to be the purest and most wholesome of breeds. My new chickens should arrive in the next few days, and then the move to Head Acres will begin. Get ready nearby landowners to hear rumbling semi-trucks and see flying chicken feathers.

Attention Shelley Cardoos, Owner of Lot #16, “Leander and Mary Gardens”
Hello Shelley, I just took a peak at your new installment on Head Acres, and I noticed that your beautiful green plant seems to be of the Sorrel family, and quite possibly Wood Sorrel. These plants are edible, with quite tasty, lemony flavored leaves - quite refreshing when hiking out in the woods or strolling down the streets. I just came across a receipe for Vegetarian Sorrel Soup that calls for fresh Sorrel leaves. Any chance that you would consider opening up your gardens for some harvesting? I would love to purchase some leaves for my soup (if your plant has not been treated with pesticides), or maybe we could barter, trade leaves for some methane gas to heat your greenhouses in the winter, or some chicken poop to fertilize your gardens?
Things are indeed happening fast on Head Acres. Our limited land mass will soon be swelling at the seams, so… if you have expressed interest in a plot, get your payment in, as that is the only way to positively secure your land. If you have been sitting on the side lines watching the action, it is now time to get in the game. Once, the ten dollar lots are all taken we will be opening up the premium section for sale on Ebay, thus reaching a maximum number of prospective residents. This auction will tentatively end on the night of the closing event at the Berwick Institute, June 18th.
Another point I would like to raise is that as land owners, you are essentially the governing body of Head Acres, and can make decisions as to the course of development, regulations on buildings, and the fate of the community once the month is over.
People might also wish to sell or subdivide their lots if demand is great enough.
I would indeed encourage any folks who are in the Boston area to come and meet their neighbors at the closing event, and be prepared to have a town meeting style discussion. Stand up for your rights! Be Heard! …and have a hot dog…
Another question I’d like to ask is…
What are people getting out of this experience? What made it seem worth the investment of time and money?
Just a thought….
Also, I’ll be updating ‘this land is your land,’ but new projects include, a skate park, fish hatchery, and garbage dump.
Comment by Lot Owner 42 & 45 / Dawn Stetzel / Chicken Farm and Methane Plant - June 8, 2007 @ 1:03 pm
Jon, what about having a silent auction of the products made from the trees/hair from the clearcutting? Could this happen at the June 18th opening/closing in Boston?
jt,
i’ve begun the planning stage of the skatepark. it shall be known as walkland. it will be constructed out of concrete and will include a pool, snakerun, full pipe, half pipe, and various other obstacles. normally, cast-in-place concrete parks are excavated and built into the landscape, however, i had my engineer take a core sample and run some soil tests and we found that just beneath the thin top layer of skullcap, the ground was a bit pink and gooey. so, we’re going to have to built above ground. no problem, i’ll just design some special footings and pilings for the whole shebang to sit on.
well, we here at walkman enterprises are very excited to get our wheels turning on this project. maybe we can meet up this week and discuss our finacial situation so we can move forward with this project. until then, skate or die!
-ryan walker, president and c.e.o. walkman enterprises
Good point about the all(most) natural products made from the spoils of the Head Acre clear cutting process. We will be selling human(e) paint brushes, Hairy hair brushes, and prosthetic moustaches all made from old growth timber. Requests for personalized objects will be entertained as well.
And bad news, the home of low prices and even lower wages is the new kid on the block, so if you need aisles full of various sized plastic totes, you know where to go…
Walkman, How many skaters can you fit on a pinhead? I located the precision optical enhancement package we had discussed, so your skate team can be seen in high def.
I also took the liberty of borrowing some road space for some subtle self-promotion. It helps explain the situation to people who completely stop what they are doing and stare, mouth agape.
Karie,
I can indeed reserve those lots they are still available. I know privacy is a factor, so if your interested I found some great wooden fences that we can surround your property with. Did you mention a campground at some point or am I making that up?
jt,
well, most of the skaters on my team are pinheads, so…
and yes, we’ll fit the optical enhancement canopy into the design. very good.

I originally intended to simply set up my own tent and have some peace under the shade of the sorrel forest. Now that I fully understand the need to acquire additional property around my original perimeter to maintain a sense of solitude, I may consider offering portions of my land for a small contribution to friends who also wish for a quiet summer getaway. More than one tent seems to = “campground” to me, even if it is not open for full commercial activity. (With the exception of flashlights, no portable electronic devises, please!)

It is only one week from the “closing party” and I have been feeling a sense of urgency regarding the installation of my peaceful haven. I took a look at “This Land is Your Land” and was dismayed to find that a *MART has been erected on what looks like the property directly beside the ones I requested. Acckkk! Clearly plot #17 will be of no use to me any longer. I respectfully request the opportunity to revisit and negotiate the lots I will occupy.
Although it will still be frightfully close to the capitalist monster, please consider granting me a shift to plots #1,2,3 and #15. In addition to ensuring my solitude this will protect two sides of the border around “Leander & Mary Gardens.” I suspect this will be in their best interest, as it will provide a secure low environment surrounding the sorrel forest, and thus a greater likelihood of adequate sunlight.
Karie,
There is a large Kiwi (the bird not the fruit) looking for some real estate around the Leander and Mary Gardens. If your taste for lot #17 has been soured by the presence of said retail giant, this cute little bird could easily make his home there. Or lot#2 would work too if you wanted a little wildlife surrounding your sanctuary. Let’s meet on Wednesday and put our heads together..oh so bad I know…
Comment by Karie C. Vincent - June 11, 2007 @ 5:00 pm
I am pleased by your willingness to work together to create the best possible solution for all involved. I think a dead bird might make a fine neighbor for *MART. Just curious, did they bother to plan for their parking lot? See you on Wednesday afternoon and we can discuss it all over a beer.
Hey, has anyone planned a brewery yet?

I’m gonna build a library. L’il books for a l’il community. We can’t have you traipsing about with an ignorant community on your head. People will talk.
It will contain all the world’s knowledge.
Please recommend a proper location…or a couple’a empty ones to choose from. Not sure what’s left.
Bonnie,
A repository of knowledge would most certainly be appropriate, especially considering that this community is located atop my brain. I just updated the map so anything that is still white is up for grabs. The neck line is available; good views, quiet neighbor on at least one side…and there are a couple good spots right up front 46,47,48 as well as 53 and 55.
It’s an interesting decision to make; if you had to fit the world’s knowledge in a square inch, what would make the cut?
I think Wal-Mart left out the parking lot because in the future, the building will just absorb consumer and vehicle together, and use that as the feed-stock for more products. Looking forward to Wed.

I have just create Graziano Junk, Salvage, etc. for all the citizens of head acres to toss their rubbish or pick some up as an early birthday present. Upon second thought, my purchase of one lot seems a wee bit small for all the trash of head acres, but im sure it will (unintentionally) expand in time. Everything i used in it’s construction was junk already, so no new products were harmed in the making of my lot. You should be getting our junk soon.

I am so sad and sorry that we could not make the closing party tonight. I was, as predicted, exhaustified!
I hope the eBay plots are moving well. And that you may have landed some thoughtful new park owners tonight. An arboretum, birders sancuary …or maybe a wildlife rehabilitation center??!
One can hope.
(Pssst! …I think the *MART avoided buying parking lot land because they plan a drive through right along my peaceful campground road.)
well, it’s been a wild, crazy, busy week. The closing party last Monday was a good time and we have a plethora of new building projects, with more coming. Check the ‘this land is your land’ section for some new pictures.
There are still a few lots left, which I’ll be trying to sell to various people I encounter while strolling around.
I must say that this has been quite an interesting experience, and I’m still processing my response to the whole thing. Some people just completely ignore me, while others stop whatever they are doing and mouth open stare, some need to know what’s going on, and most just say “nice hat.”

Hello Jon and Head Acres community,
I won the auction on E-bay for 3 lots. I made a replica of the Burj Al Arab hotel from Dubai. It is the tallest hotel in the world, with the highest tennis court (ever) of course. On Head Acres, it is the tallest structure on Jon’s head with the tallest green bottle cap with stripes painted on it of course. So there!

Residents of Head Acres, on behalf of the now defunct Cody Anti-Walmart Coalition, I offer my most sincere apologies. While abroad fighting the good fight against Nazi lesbian hookers abducted by UFOs and forced into weight loss programs, my good friend, the Coalition’s leader and sole member was himself abducted by a UFO and forced into a weight loss program. He has since changed his name to Lukas von Skank and frequents the local WalMart often. Lukas has graciously agreed to relinquish control over his plot of land in Head Acres to the super-fun Cody Attractions Company. And we, at long last, are very excited to bring to Head Acres the eighth wonder of the world, the world’s largest spicy peanut! We know it will bring the residents of Head Acres minutes of family fun. Better late than never. And please wash your hands after touching the world’s largest spicy peanut. It stings the eyes something awful.
Chris,
Your structure is indeed the tallest by far, making me contort to all sorts of crazy postures to get through doorways, a picture of that should definitely be included. I think I’m going to need a chin strap soon lest our community fly away.
..and Cody, can everyone take turns licking the spicy peanut?

Comment by walkman - June 9, 2007 @ 6:24 pm
jt,
well, most of the skaters on my team are pinheads, so…
and yes, we’ll fit the optical enhancement canopy into the design.

I anxiously await your reply.

Karie,
There is a large Kiwi (the bird not the fruit) looking for some real estate around the Leander and Mary Gardens.

Comment by jontaylor - June 12, 2007 @ 2:44 pm
Karie,
I think Wal-Mart left out the parking lot because in the future, the building will just absorb consumer and vehicle together, and use that as the feed-stock for more products. Looking forward to Wed.

Jon,
I have just create Graziano Junk, Salvage, etc. for all the citizens of head acres to toss their rubbish or pick some up as an early birthday present.

Be well,
Karie

well, it’s been a wild, crazy, busy week.
